Founded in 2010, SynergiePT is a private outpatient physical therapy clinic located in Westchester, CA. Its staff of physical therapists provide a holistic approach to patient-centered care for individuals suffering from musculoskeletal pathologies.
Under the direction of Dr. Julie Guthrie, SynergiePT aims to inspire and empower all patients to optimize their physical, mental, and emotional health by being an active participant in the rehabilitation process.
SynergiePT treats a broad spectrum of patient populations from pediatrics to geriatrics with acute and chronic conditions including incontinence, pre and post-partum conditions, leg and knee pain, back pain, orthopedic injuries, pelvic floor pain, post-surgical conditions, shoulder pain, sprains/strains, radiculopathy and foot/ankle pain.

Julie Guthrie PT, DPT, OCS
Julie Guthrie PT, DPT, OCS has been a physical therapist for 19 years in the Los Angeles area. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2000 from the University of Southern California. She received specialized training for the management of individuals with pelvic floor disorders while in her clinical rotations, and then took this experience to initiate pelvic floor programs at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Kern & Associates Physical Therapy, and Davis & Derosa Physical Therapy.
Not solely focusing on pelvic floor issues, Julie received the distinction of becoming an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2006. She has also been active in the education arena in both the clinic and the classroom for both the University of Southern California's and Mt. St. Mary's University physical therapy programs.
Seeking balance in life, Julie is passionate about promoting active lifestyles in youth and working with the adolescent athlete. Previously a gymnast-turned marathoner and triathlete, she now enjoys chasing after her six-year old daughter and training in the dark hours of the morning.

For more than thirty years, Julie has been helping men and women overcome chronic pain through physical therapy. A pioneer in the advancement of pelvic floor wellness, Julie led the nation’s very first university-based clinical Women’s Health Program at the University of Southern California, where she helped the faculty treat patients for incontinence and pre- and post-partum muscle problems through physical therapy. Madeline Star, PT, DPT, OCS
Madeline Star, PT, DPT, OCS is an orthopedic and pelvic health physical therapist from Los Angeles. Madeline has a lifelong history of athleticism including Greco-roman style wrestling, varsity rowing, and snowboarding. As part of her dedication to helping patients discover their own potential in their rehabilitation and wellness journeys, she has also trained as a Balanced Body Pilates Instructor and worked at the Lewis and Clark College Sports Medicine Department in Portland, Oregon. She is a proud graduate of the Kaiser Permanente Orthopaedic Residency Program and Mt. St. Mary's University Los Angeles.
When she’s not in the clinic, she can be found at the beach with her dog, heading to the mountains to catch a day of snowboarding, or cooking for friends and family.
Ben Cornell, PT, soon-to-be-PhD
Ben Cornell, PT, soon-to-be-PhD, is a California native who graduated from Mt. St. Mary's University in 2000. Following a year of orthopaedic residency, he was a stellar cornerstone therapist for Healthcare Partners Medical Group for nearly 18 years.
He is completing his PhD program at Grand Canyon University, investigating cognitive motivating factors in students. His passion in evaluating runners and his vast experience make him a valuable addition to our team.
Ben's physical history has been a melange of endurance sports: track (hurdles), cross-country, bike riding mountain biking and endurance triathlon. His long-distance highlight was circumnavigating and retracing the 1928 Tour de France, chronicled in the beautiful documentary Le Ride.
